Baliyatra started with its colorful elegance
Baliyatra started a day after Kartik Purnima in the banks of Mahanadi river, near Cuttack city.Baliyatra, reflects the maritime legacy of great Orissa tradition of business acumen.
The fair will last for almost one month attracting crafts and people from various places.Various troupes from different parts of West Bengal, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya pradesh have come along with their show pieces and will perform during the festival.This time the state government is enthusiast about making the festival go global.The intention of state government is to attract more foreign tourists at this hour making the place famous worldwide.
“We want to popularize Baliyatra across the world.This is a historic festival of Orissa conceptualized by Biju Pattanaik”, state tourism minister Debi Prasad Pattanik said.
